Coach Bateman- Head Coach
Coach Bateman has over 20 years experience as a competitor and coach.
In addition to martial arts he has also served as a defensive tactics and combatives instructor working as a civilian instructor training both military and law enforcement.

Mrs. Lindsey - Program Manager
She has been a part of NXG Combat Sports for over 15 years, earning her Black Belt in Taekwondo where she previously served as the Co-Director of the Alabama State Championships. An early coach in our striking program, she now serves as support to our coaching staff in addition to managing front end operations.
Coach Jeremy - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
A member of NXG Combat Sports since 2018, he has been a member, competitor, and assistant before taking on additional roles inside our academy. He is a coach in our Youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class, oversees Elevate Training sessions for our youngest members, and runs an Adult BJJ study group each Friday.
He earned his Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in April of 2023.
Coach Ben - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Professor Ben is a teacher by trade holding a PHD in addition to being active duty USAF and a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He has been a part of our program for more than 5 years and actively oversees our Early Bird Jiu-Jitsu program.
An active IBJJF competitor, he earned his BJJ Black Belt from John Ouano in 2024.
Coach Monnie - Striking & Jiu-Jitsu
Monnie joined NXG Combat Sports as a teenager. He began competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2020 and earned his Blue Belt in 2022. He made his MMA debut in 2024, amassing 7 fights in his first year, and winning the IFL Amateur Featherweight Championship.
He became an Assistant Coach at the beginning of 2025.
Coach Bobby - Brazilian Jiu-jitsu
A member of NXG Combat Sports since 2018, Coach Bobby is a wealth of knowledge both on and off the mats. He currently assists with Early Bird Jiu-Jitsu classes.
He earned his BJJ Black Belt in 2024 from John Ouano - Tsunami BJJ
Coach Tiara - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
A student for almost 6 years, she earned her Blue Belt in 2022 and has competed regularly in addition to assisting with Youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes. She was instrumental in launching our Ladies Only Jiu-Jitsu program which she was overseen for the past two years.
Coach Adam - Striking Program
The newest member of our coaching staff, Adam came to NXG Combat Sports as an experienced striker in 2023. He continues to interned under our Coaching Staff and began his role as an Assistant Instructor in 2025.
