Michael Bateman- Head Coach
Coach Bateman is described as "Child, Family, & Fighter Approved" for his relatable nature across a variety of different training environments.
A lifelong martial artist and experienced competitor with more than two decades coaching experience and 40 years training, he creates a special kind of energy as he actively leads daily instruction to all ages and skill levels.
Currently, he is a 1st Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Prof. John Ouano , and was awarded his 6th Degree Black Belt from Korea Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan. Additionally he is recognized as a Senior Combatives Instructor by the USAF, and has been a multi-state licensed MMA Coach for well over a decade.
Most important, he balances an energetic yet disciplined learning environment with the goal of helping each student achieve their own success!

Lindsey Bateman - Program Manager
Mrs. Lindsey is the first face most people will see as she manages our front end assisting with scheduling, memberships and student needs.
"As a wife and mom, consistency and organization is mandatory to sustain a busy life, and I ensure our academy takes that same approach to make your life easier!"

In addition to family and her profession, she is also a Black Belt in Taekwondo where she served as an original instructor in our youth striking program.
Coach Jeremy - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Coach Jeremy's martial arts journey started like many, as a Dad sharing an interest with his children!
A devoted husband, father, and coach he has been a part of NXG Combat Sports for almost 8 years now. He is a lead instructor in our Youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, and runs our semi-private "Elevate Training Sessions" for youth athletes.
In addition to coaching he is also an experienced competitor in the sport of BJJ.
Coach Adam - Striking
Adam interned in our Instructor Development Program starting in 2023 and began his role as an Assistant Instructor in 2025. He currently provides support to both youth and adult striking programs at NXG Combat Sports.
Coach Monie - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Monie joined our community when he was just a teenager, and over the years has earned many awards in BJJ and an Amateur Title in MMA. He currently serves as an Assistant Coach in our Youth and Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program.
Coach Tiara - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Ms. Tiara provides support to our Youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program, and mentorship to the many ladies of our Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program. She is welcoming face with a genuine heart who provides great value and encouragement to everyone around her both on and off the mats.
Coach Ben - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Ben came to us with over a decade of training and has been a part of NXG Combat Sports since 2020. In addition to receiving his Black Belt from Prof. John Ouano in 2024, he is also a scholastic with a PHD and over 20 years service in the USAF.
